MEET SHAE ROSE

THE ORIGIN:

I’ve always been creative since childhood, making arts and crafts using different mediums—origami paper, paint, friendship bracelets, you name it. It only made sense to graduate to digital media. I would watch America’s Next Top Model, though deservedly controversial, and find the most excitement seeing the photographs created at the end of each challenge. I believe that played a major role in my decision to pursue a career in photography. I purchased my first DSLR (Nikon D3100, to be exact) 13 years ago with my entire check earned working for the Housekeeping Department at my high school. While I never pursued a college degree in Photography (I chose French—quelle joie!), the three Digital Photography courses (DPI, DPII, and DP Honors) I took at Forest Lake Academy gave me a launching pad into the work you see here today. Further professional development required real-life experience, mentorship, and unrelenting confidence.
